Last Spring, my husband and I were planning a move from the East Coast to the Rocky Mountains, and we spent every waking moment fixing our house to sell and then finding a new place in which to live. However, I allowed myself a few minutes to paint this one little tiger each morning or evening. It became my grounding ritual.
Another ritual during the wintry days of fixing up the house and packing was my nightly Masala Chai tea. I sipped my tea and dreamed of Spring in the Rockies.
After many months of settling into our new home, getting to know our neighbors and our new surroundings, and enjoying family and friends who have visited us here, painting took a back seat. And then, commission season took over, so Masala had to wait again.
I finally finished Masala, and since the last tiger I painted was "Darjeeling," I decided to continue the tea theme and name this little tiger "Masala."
So, I would like you to meet "Masala." I hope you like him.
