I have chosen to name this bear "Armel." The name Armel is of Welsh origin, meaning "bear prince." In some cultures, bears symbolize strength, wisdom, healing, and medicine. Armel represents to me some (but not all) of the many people out there working on the front lines, specifically in medicine: the doctors, nurses, rescue workers. (I really can't name them all.) Armel is strong, brave, exhausted, and determined not to give in to despair.

The struggles that we are all experiencing now have put a chokehold on all of my creative efforts. I finally decided to stop beating my head against the wall, put aside ongoing projects, and paint what was in my head. This painting is the result.
I have chosen to name this bear "Armel." The name Armel is of Welsh origin, meaning "bear prince." In some cultures, bears symbolize strength, wisdom, healing, and medicine.
